Fluxie Vacation to Costa Rica

This year, we have a special benefit for Flux employees. It’s an all-expense paid vacation for two anywhere in the world. The time away from work does not count against the employee’s paid-time-off bank.

Earlier this year, Fluxies went to the Caribbean and Machu Picchu.

The next Fluxie goes to Costa Rica next week. It’ll be all sun, surf, and play.

Our New Website is Live

Flux’s new website — fluxcorp.com — is live.

The new site tells you so much more about what Flux is and what it does. The new site is easier to navigate, simpler to use, is far more informative than before, and it looks great.

It’s only about 90% finished, but it’s definitely good enough to take live while we polish off the remaining 10%, which according to software development rules, will take longer to complete than the first 90%. Hmmm.

An illustrator sketched avatars for each of the Fluxies. After these avatars are filled out and colored in, they’ll make their debut on the new Flux website (coming soon).

We’re getting closer to finishing the mockups for the new website design for fluxcorp.com. The mockups are coming along very nicely. We’ll be ready to start slicing into HTML and CSS sooner than later.

Website Redesign, First Mockups

We’re redesigning our website to get more information about Flux out there and to make it look nicer, more modern. Here’s the mockup of the new homepage for fluxcorp.com:

In the center where the screenshot is displayed, there will be a slideshow, similar to the slideshow on fluxcorp.com today. However, when the second slide (“Monitor Jobs and File Transfers”) is selected, the selection will be highlighted as shown below. Notice the nice looking indentation and the highlighted text in the center slide.

Here is a sketch of the new homepage for fluxcorp.com. We’re attempting to show the fundamentals of what Flux does and how it looks within a few seconds after a user lands on the homepage.

The section would contain an actual, zoomed in screenshot of the Flux Operations Console. There are two screenshots, and they would display in a simple slideshow.

Thoughts? Feedback?

Very Beginnings of Flux 7.10 Documentation Online

We started putting the Flux 7.10 documentation together, with updates for the new Flux 7.10 features. All of the Flux 7.10 documentation is “in development”, so to speak, so don’t take it as the final product. Nonetheless, we’re making it available online as we work on it, so people can see what’s new in Flux 7.10 and watch the documentation develop.
